Plant Magic

Plant Ally Magic Medicine

The plants are our friends. They are teachers and healers if we allow ourselves to see them that way. We’ve known since the genesis of human beings that plants have healing and medicinal qualities. My relationship with plants is more shamanic than scientific. This session was inspired by my years of working with plant spirits as powerful teachers and healers. I’ve experienced profound spiritual, ancestral and emotional healing from my plant allies. I don’t use that word lightly. A plant relationship is like a human relationship, in that we want to consider ourselves equal with the plants and approach the relationship from a place of love and curiosity, rather than, “what can you do for me.” You would never approach a potential friend and say that, so neither would you with a plant. This session is part herbal medicine consult and part energy healing. At the end I will give you an herbal preparation that you can take home (unless of course, the plant that comes through is not in my apothecary). Whatever the session reveals you will leave with some wisdom and guidance from the plants and an herbal preparation from me! This is a 30min session.

Herbal Medicine Consultation

Our ancestors, across all cultures, knew of the healing abilities of plants and used them to treat illness. This consultation is for you if you’ve been struggling with a physical, emotional or spiritual ailment that Western medicine hasn’t been able to address properly. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis techniques and Ayurvedic constitutional theory, this session will help to identify the root causes of imbalance. You will fill out a questionnaire and we’ll go in depth during your session to find a plant and remedy best suited to your current situation. I provide herbals in the form of tinctures or elixirs, oils, salves or tea blends. You will receive a custom herbal preparation with this session. This is a 45min session.

Plant Magic FAQ

Where do you source your plants from? I harvest as many plants as possible, locally, from parks and riversides in the Twin Cities area or from my personal garden. For plants I can’t find or grow here, I source them from reputable organic and sustainable herbal farmers, like StarWest and Mountain Rose.

What kind of herbal products do you make? I make tinctures and elixirs for sublingual consumption. Vodka is the main alcohol I use and raw honey or maple syrup for elixirs. I also make herbal infused oils external use. Depending on what I have at any given time, I can also blend tea, but tinctures and elixirs are the main way I administer my herbs.

Do you make any tinctures without alcohol? No. I will occasionally make herbal vinegar, but the plant compounds that are extracted with water based preparations are different than with alcohol. *Note: that the amount of alcohol you’re consuming in a tincture so so minimal that your body metabolizes it almost instantly.
